Hi guys! Since it’s September 1st, it’s only fitting that we dive head first into fall content. I mean, I’ve been sharing it for the last week (sorry can’t help myself) but now I don’t feel as guilty since we’ve hit September 😉
So y’all probably know how much I love my aperol spritz’s – I mean, they are truly the perfect drink in the summer. Pretty sure I drank them more this summer than I did rosé which is saying something! The other day though, I was like, how can we continue this Aperol momentum into fall? Cue Pear Aperol Spritz!
I originally found this recipe from The Tasting Table, so you can head to their blog for all the details but I’m going to share a quick recap here. These are in the ingredients (and amounts) you’ll need:
Pear (4 slices to muddle, plus another few slices to garish)
¾ ounce lemon juice
½ ounce simple syrup
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract (I used vanilla bourbon extract from TJs)
1 ounce AperolÂ
Ice
1½ ounces Prosecco or Champagne, chilled
½ ounce club soda, chilled (I also love the blood orange seltzer’s from TJs. I feel like the flavor pairs get with Aperol).
You’ll also need a shaker or mixing glass, something to muddle the pear with, a strainer, and of course a cocktail glass to enjoy your drink!
Essentially you’ll first add the lemon juice, simple syrup, and vanilla extract in the shaker/mixing glass, then add the pears and muddle them. Don’t worry if there are still some bigger pieces of pear left, the strainer will catch those and they won’t end up in your drink 😉 Then add your aperol and ice, shake/stir, and then strain everything into your cocktail glass (with ice of course). Finally, top off your drink with the champagne and club soda! Again, you can find the original recipe here.
Tag me on stories if y’all try this! I thought it was really good, and will definitely make it again this fall 🙂
I have a pear and I can’t wait to try it!
Can you link the items you used for mixing and measuring? (from your Instagram reel) 🙂
this was a kit we got as a gift – I’m not sure where it was from! If you just google “cocktail shaker kit” though, a ton of options/price points will come up!
