So this is something that I’ve always been aware of in that, I really do believe in the ability to manifest your future and that starts with your beliefs about yourself. But recently, a video my friend made really struck a cord with me and reminded me of this. I realized that as much as I am aware of how much your thoughts can/do dictate your life, it’s sometimes so easy to engage in negative self-talk, or limiting belief talk, and not even realize it.
My friend, Janelle, is a confidence coach and specifically helps women step into their own power. One of the Tiktok’s she posted really resonated with me. I’m going to link it here so you can watch it, then come back to finish reading this blog.
I was listening to this and I realized that after the whole moving-to-Denver-saga lol I had been making comments like this – “well too bad we can’t afford it!” And while this was a little bit of a special scenario since homes were selling for like 300K over haha, I realized that I kept telling myself things like “well it will always probably be too expensive” “we can’t afford that” “well, wish we could afford that!” etc. Her Tiktok made me realize that while this past spring we couldn’t afford it, it doesn’t mean that we won’t ever be able to. And in the meantime, I need to stop repeating to myself this (limiting) belief around being able to afford it. It reminded me that our beliefs dictate our thoughts and therefore our actions and results (beliefs >thoughts > actions > results).
After watching that video, I told Stephen – I know we were feeling disappointed about Denver and then were kind of making snarky comments/jokes about not being able to afford it but we need to stop doing that. We need to speak what we want into existence ie. “We couldn’t afford Denver at the time, but we will be able to in the future.” I know for some of you this may sound kind of “woo-woo” or whatever you want to call it lol, but I really do believe that your thoughts are so powerful and they are what ultimately lead to the elements that create your life. And this can go for any topic – the money mindset example hit me because it was something that I was specifically telling myself recently but this can be around your health, your career, the kind of partner you are, etc.
All that to say, I just wanted to share her video because I felt like it was such a good and powerful reminder. Remember your beliefs >thoughts > actions > results. So be mindful of the stories you are telling yourself – they matter!
Ps. If her video(s) resonated with you, she has a book launching in a couple of weeks that you may be interested in reading 🙂
