Why (bulldog) yoga is one of the hardest workouts I’ve ever done

Hey guys! So if you caught my blog post last month, you know that I started venturing into the world of yoga with bulldog yoga’s online classes. I gave you guys the run down of why I really like bulldog yoga as a company, what classes they offer, and then touched on how yoga has really allowed me to refocus and align myself with an overall positive mantra for the day (if you missed that post, you can find it here).

As I’ve continued to try some of their other classes and incorporate yoga more, I’ve basically found that yoga is, well, probably one of the hardest workouts I’ve ever done! I hear it all the time, and I am guilty of it too–that people don’t want to do yoga because it’s “too slow” and not a “good enough” workout. Ha. Okay, well I definitely take back anything I ever said along those lines. Guys, yoga has been SO hard. When I started branching out into more of bulldog’s classes, like their “Invigorate Fast and Fiery with Tessa” and “Invigorate 3 with Katy”, I was feeling just as challenged as I do during a heavy lifting day. Of course I feel challenged in different ways, but the amount of strength and endurance required for these yoga classes was definitely testing for me. With weights, after a heavy set when my muscles are feeling fatigued, I can take a step back for a minute. With yoga though, it is a continual flow which makes it much harder (at least for me!) A lot of times I felt really weak to be honest! I was like “Wow, I really need to work on my body strength!” But it’s been good–it’s given me goals to work towards!

With that said, I love that bulldog’s classes have shown me the various sides to yoga. I’ve used some of their classes to slow down, take a breathe, and prepare myself for the day ahead. And now, I’ve used some of their classes to really work on my strength and endurance. So it’s nice to have options depending on what I feel like my mind and/or body needs that particular day. And not to mention the playlists that go along with each class! Regardless of which type of class I choose, their music choices are spot on. From Coldplay to Beyonce—they’ve got it all.

One other thing I want to touch on again is the cost of this program. I’ve heard a lot of people say that a barrier to group classes is the cost. I’ve definitely be there before–yoga, pure barre, kickboxing…you name it. It’s definitely frustrating when you want to do something to better yourself and lead a healthier lifestyle but you’re like how am I supposed to pay $100+ dollars a month for these classes? Even if you can go to the classes every day it can still be hard to justify (IMO). And again, how many of us have the time to go all the way to a class every day and plan our schedule around it? I don’t know about you guys, but I definitely don’t! I know we are all busy.

So, getting back to the cost of bulldog yoga lol…it’s super  affordable, guys. You can get one month unlimited for only $16, or if you sign up for at least 3 months up front, it’s only $12. PLUS, they offer 20% off your first purchase (AND you can use code CLAIRE15 for an additional 15% off– oh, and fyi in order to enter the extra discount code you have to click your cart instead of going straight to check out ? ). So, yeah! If you’re looking for a good yoga program that fits conveniently into your schedule and won’t rack up your credit card balance lol, I’d definitely recommend this one. I’m going to go ahead and link their site here, and if you have any other questions–just ask!
