Custom Athleisure Looks

Hey guys! Going into 2018, a lot of you said that you wanted me to focus on sharing more of my personal style, which I was definitely down to do! Fashion and styling myself have always been a hobby of mine (did you know that I originally started my blog to showcase more of my personal style? It wasn’t even fitness related! lol), so needless to say I’m super excited to share more outfit inspo with you 🙂

While I get that there is a lot of outfit inspiration going around on IG, blogs, Pinterest, etc. I wanted to make sure that I was sharing brands that most of us can actually wear/buy. I mean, I love nice things just as much as the next girl and I don’t mind splurging on certain staple pieces, but as a general rule of thumb I like to keep most of my items around $100 and less. And apparently you guys feel the same way! A lot of you said that you feel the styles and brands that a lot of fashion bloggers share just aren’t realistic in terms of price point. But don’t worry–I got you! Today I’m going to share some of my favorite athleisure brands and pieces courtsey of Trunk Club.

So, before getting into some of the brands and styled outfits, I want to thank Trunk Club for partnering with me on this post–they are to thank for all these fabulous looks I’m going to share! For those of you not familiar, Trunk Club is a Nordstrom company that essentially curates a box of clothing pieces and outfits based on your personal preferences (for men and women). So as a Nordstrom company you know that they have all the best brands and variety! Nordstrom is a personal favorite, what can I say. So anyway, you work with a personal stylist and explain what types of clothes you’re looking for, what your personal preferences are in terms of colors, styles, price point etc. There is a stylist fee of $25 but  this goes towards your purchases, and if you’re a Nordstrom cardholder this fee is waived. Plus, shipping is free both ways for everyone so you don’t need to worry about that. They have clothes ranging from business casual, everyday wear, to athleisure and athletic wear, and even boxes divided into categories like basics, colors, sweater weather, etc. Obviously there is a ton of variety to choose from! They are not a subscription service so you have the flexibility to order a trunk whenever you want whether it be on a one time basis, seasonally, or just as often as you want 🙂

When I first was signing up for my trunk, I answered about 15 different questions to give my stylist an idea of my personal style and what I was looking for. Then, my stylist (Heidi–who did an AMAZING job) went through different atheisure brands and hand selected various items for me to choose from. Then, I was able to review all the items prior to receiving the trunk and trying all of them on. So, if you want to exchange any of the items for another option you can do so even before receiving your trunk. I however did not exchange out any of Heidi’s picks because they were that good! She even sent me a pair of Nike’s which I was obsessed with. I was like, OMG a pair of shoes too?! I seriously loved each piece, and the even better part was that everything fit perfectly too. Win-win. Below are photos of the pieces they selected for me in addition to their price points! All the pieces I selected were around $100 or under more or less. I love that so many of these pieces I can get double use out of–either wearing them to or from the gym or just as every day casual wear.

Shadow Boxer Jacket by Zella ($129). A great windbreaker type jacket. Super light material–perfect for heading into spring! Out of Bounds Highwaisted leggings by Zella ($65). I love this dark green color and the textured vents. NikeLab Air Zoom Strong 2 Training Shoe ($110). I would have never picked these out for myself but immediately loved them when I saw them!

‘Sirsasana’ Sports Bra by Zella ($49). This sports bra was the same one featured in the header photo. Super flattering cut on the front, and the back is a criss cross which is always fun! Leggings are same from above photo.

Sorry–upper back strap is twisted (the band is all green on the front side). I’ll tell Stephen to pay more attention next time!!! 😉

Perf Perfection Singlet by Climawear ($40). Perfect go-to black tank with breathable vents in front. And only $40 too!

Mellow Modal Blend Tee by Alo ($74). I love this white shirt with the see-through panels! Super cute to pair with joggers, leggings, jeans, or shorts! I love how it has a looser fit as well–very comfy and flattering!

Classics Franchise Jogger Pants by Reebok ($50). Super comfortable but also nicely fitted through the leg–aka sweatpants that make you look put together and not like a bum (the best kind). Bespoke Sports Bra by Koral ($105). One of the more expensive items for a sports bra, but I think it would be super cute paired under an oversized (white) tank during the summer too. Feel like you could get a lot of wear outside the gym!

Peak Cutout Long Sleeve Pullover Crop Hoodie ($98) and Airbrush High Waist Leggings ($82) both by Alo. To say I love this set is an understatement! Both pieces are great neutrals (the exact color is Anthracite) but the cutouts on the sweatshirt add that perfect addition so you’re still fashionable. I think this sweatshirt would be so cute with cut off shorts too! Also the leggings were super comfortable, great quality, and the high waist was very flattering.

Breathe Training Tank by Nike ($40). Super soft grey and white heather tank. Great staple workout tank for anyone!

Versus Leggings by Koral ($140). One of the more expensive items in the box but they are so fun and would be perfect to wear everyday or even for a night out! I think pairing them with black booties and an oversized black sweater would look so cute. If you can wear items for multiple functions (working out, daytime and night time) then it can definitely be worth the investment! I paired them with the Perf Perfection Singlet by Climawear ($40) that I featured earlier.

Overall, I really loved all of these brands that Trunk Club sent, and felt like all the pieces were great quality and a decent price point! Also, even though I think I can style myself more than adequately (LOL) it was nice having a stylist curate the trunk for me for a few reasons. While I know what I like, sometimes it takes a fresh set of eyes to identify pieces outside your normal repertoire. Like, those Nike shoes! I would have never picked those out for myself but as soon as I saw them and tried them on I was like, these feel like me and are such a cute addition to an outfit. Also, sometimes it’s just hard to narrow items down and make a decision! Sometimes (okay, a lot of times) when I go shopping I end up with wayyy more in my checkout cart then I should and have a hard time narrowing down and eliminating items. Also, their stylists are trained to know which brands and clothing styles will work best on different body types (so that’s probably why everything fit perfectly?!) Plus, it’s also really fun previewing your trunk and seeing what items were chosen for you. I mean, who doesn’t like opening gifts (well, trunks 😉 )?! It’s a perfect balance of a personal and customized service with still having the convenience of being online.

I hope that you guys enjoyed these looks and found some brands that are not only affordable but that you can wear in and out of the gym. Did you guys have a favorite outfit piece or brand? Also, if you’re interested in trying out Trunk Club, you can do so here! 🙂
