So yesterday when I was going through my Sunday, I was thinking of what I needed/wanted to do to get ready for the week. While every Sunday isn’t exactly the same, I feel like there are certain things I tend to do to prepare for the upcoming week. The goal is to just feel organized and on top of things for when Monday rolls around. So, figured I’d share in case you find any of these to be helpful!
Clean. What do they say, tidy space, tidy mind? Lol, something like that! Basically, I feel like having a clean space like your bedroom, your closet (clothes put away), office, etc. really helps you start with a clean slate going into the week. You’re not waking up feeling like everything is cluttered and disorganized. Not saying you need to clean the whole house, but I feel like the main rooms/areas you spend your time in are important!
Make a to-do list for Monday. I like to open a note in my phone and just jot down things that I know need to be done or are on the schedule for the next day. It could be anything from a phone call, to an appointment, UPS drop-off, etc. It just helps me have a mental note of what is coming up the next day.
Take inventory of the week ahead. This is kind of like the point above but on a larger scale. It just helps give you an idea of how your week is going to play out. Maybe Tuesday is really busy so you make note that you also want to get XYZ done on Monday. This just helps avoid any surprises on Monday when so you’re like sh*t totally forgot that was happening this week.
Grocery Shopping. I don’t always do this on Sunday but if the fridge is looking pretty empty, I typically make a run to the store. There’s nothing worse than being hangry all day Monday to throw everything off!
Laundry. Along the same lines of grocery shopping, this isn’t something I do all the time but if there is a ton of laundry that has piled up, I’ll go ahead and do a load. I feel like this one isn’t as important since we’re working from home, but especially if you are going into the office or you have a certain attire you need to be wearing on your zoom calls, you don’t want it to be 7am on Monday and you’re like, “I have nothing to wear!!”
Relax! Lately I’ve been much stricter with my weekends in making sure I use them to actually relax and recharge. This way, whenever Monday rolls around I feel more rested and genuinely ready to work.
