So lately you may have noticed that I’ve been very focused on cleaning out my wardrobe and getting more clear on my personal style. This all started because I was feeling like every time I walked into my closet I had “nothing to wear.” If this sounds familiar, you’ll definitely be interested in this blog post and some of the other wardrobe tips I’ve discovered recently.
This activity in particular though is one that is definitely helpful in showing you a better idea on what your personal style is. You can start to see patterns and trends in your closet based on what you’re actually currently wearing, which will be really helpful for future purchases. No longer will pieces just be sitting in your closet, untouched!
I recapped this activity in this IGTV and this reel (if you want the 30 second version). But essentially you are just picking out 10 pieces from your closet that are your most worn/most loved pieces (and then add a couple pairs of shoes). You can do this every season or group spring/summer and fall/winter together. Either way, you’ll get a great glimpse into the styles, colors and fabrics that you gravitate towards. This will help you get more clear on your personal style and make it much easier when shopping because you’ll know what kinds of pieces you’ll actually wear. You can see mine below as an example. Once I pulled these pieces, it started to become really clear to me what colors and vibe (casual and athleisure) I gravitate towards.
I’ll be posting a few more tips to the blog and keep y’all posted with how my wardrobe is coming along! In the meantime though if you want a few more wardrobe tips, check out my “closet clean up” highlight on IG.
