Hi guys! Today I wanted to share a few random home items that I feel like make daily life more convenient, and/or can help elevate the feeling and aesthetic of your home 🙂 Also, I’ve linked my office items below and you can find all of the gallery wall prints in this post.
Philips Hue Bulbs – Okay, so you may be like “Really, Claire? Lightbulbs?” but here me out! I mean, we use lightbulbs everyday so you can’t tell me it’s a product you’ll never use 😉 But really, if you’re not familiar with these lightbulbs, they are smart lightbulbs that you can control solely from the Philips Hue app (so if you have them in multiple rooms you can organize all the rooms/lights here). You can choose bulbs that are just neutral/white or ones with actual color. We only have the white ones but you can control the warmth or coolness of the light and then dim them to whatever brightness you want. Our friends have the colored one though and they look really cool when used in certain parts of their house since it has more of a modern feel. But regardless of which ones you choose, they are just one of those little home upgrades that are so nice to have! I especially love having these in our bedroom because I can easily dim my bedside lamp if I want to stay up reading, or if Stephen is still getting ready for bed, I can turn my light off and just dim his so he still has some light but it’s not keeping me up. They are really practical but also just nice to have from an ambiance standpoint as well!
(Faux) Plants – I know, I know. Some people will be like you need to get real plants! And while some real plants are easier to keep alive than others, unless it’s a snake plant, I’m probably going to end up killing it LOL. But in general, whether you get real or faux plants, I think they can make such a big difference in your space. Since I mostly own faux, I’m going to focus on the aesthetic aspect here, but they are an easy way to help make a room feel more complete and visually pleasing without buying another piece of furniture per say. The corner of my office definitely needed something to balance out the rest of the room, but a piece of furniture would have looked way to crowded and cluttered. This plant in particular is from Artiplanto and is the 6 ft. tall one. I still need to get a slightly bigger basket but we’re working with what we have for now 🙂
Brooklinen Sheets – I will say that this was a brand that I was originally skeptical of, like, was the hype worth it?! Let me just say that this bedding is real deal. When we first got our order, all Stephen and I could talk about was how soft and luxe the sheets were! We spend so much of our day (well, night) sleeping, so it only makes sense to invest in higher quality bedding. We have the lux sateen set (code CLAIRE25 to save).
Dyson Cordless Vacuum – So I did a full blog post on whether this vacuum is worth it because I know it’s not cheap! But I have to say, for us, it’s definitely gotten a lot of use. Since it’s cordless and incredibly light, I find myself vacuuming several times a week because it’s not cumbersome like a traditional vacuum. Plus, all the attachments makes it super convenient and efficient to clean our furniture, car, etc. I’ve also heard these are great to buy refurbished if you’re looking to save!
Nespresso Machine – We’ve had this Nespresso maker for a couple years and for whatever reason I really never used it up until recently…and now I can’t get enough of it! Maybe because I’m kind of incompetent when it comes to making coffee but it’s so easy (and quick) to make one and then just add some milk or creamer plus a little pumpkin pie spice (from TJs) on top. It’s the perfect little afternoon pick me up! We have this machine which I love because it’s small and doesn’t take up a lot of counter space but the original Nespresso has better holiday flavors so that could be a game changer if you’re looking at which one to get 😉
