If you’re reading this, you probably know that a couple weeks ago I decided to get my fake lashes removed. I’ve had fake lashes (on and off, but mostly on) for the last 4-5 years and I’ve always loved them. I shared my pros vs cons of fake lashes in this post if you’re interested, but over the years the pros always outweighed the cons for me. I loved being able to wake up and feel “ready” without spending a lot of time on my (eye) makeup.
Well recently, for whatever reason, I’ve been wanting to experiment with my makeup more, especially my eye makeup. And while you can definitely wear eye makeup with fake lashes, I always feel like it’s harder to apply it because the fake lashes themselves are so long. The other month, my friend was doing my eye makeup and she was like how do you even apply eye makeup with these lashes on?! And I was like yeah, I know, it’s tough LOL. All that to say, I was just craving a change and I also felt like the makeup looks I was leaning towards recently were more natural so I figured why not just give the fake lashes a break? I can always go back!
So, with the fake lashes being removed, I decided to get a lash lift and tint afterwards (I saw Amy at Arch & Edge and you can always use my name as a referral for 10% off any of their services). The lift helps lengthen, lift and curl (or even straighten if your lashes are more “wild”) your natural lashes, while the tint darkens them so it gives more of the appearance that you’re wearing mascara even when you aren’t. I figured this would soften the shock some of what I looked like without fake lashes haha, but I also know a lot of you girls get it done on a regular basis and love it.
Below are some photos before and after of the treatment (besides the lift & tint, Amy did an Olaplex treatment as well 🙂 )
I’ll be honest, at first I didn’t see a huge difference but looking back I think it’s because I was just in shock from my fake lashes being off. I was so used to having very long lashes that anything remotely less just seemed non-existent lol. Once I got home though and took a closer look at the before and after photos, I could definitely see a difference. You’ll notice in the pre-lash lift and tint photos below how straight my eyelashes are and how they almost point downwards. Also, after I applied mascara a couple days later, I could notice even more of the difference. In the past when I’ve had my fake lashes off, my natural lashes ended up being super straight like I’ve said before. Like, to the point where even after putting on mascara, they would barely have any curl. So the fact that when I apply mascara now, they have a nice lift/curl to them is huge! I’m excited to see as my lashes continue to grow and I continue to get the lash lift and lints in the future, how much more of a difference it will make. Point being, if I notice a difference now even with my natural lashes being super short and straight at baseline, I feel like the results will only be better in the future!

And this is a photo I posted the other day with mascara (after the lift & tint) – I’m honestly shocked my eyelashes look this lifted/curled. Also, I used this mascara and this primer. Both also come in travel size if you just want to try-that’s actually what I bought.
Also, some of y’all had a few questions about a lash lift & tint so going to answer some of those below:
How long does it last? 6-8 weeks on average
How long does it take? I was in and out of my appointment in less than an hour.
How much does it cost? At Arch & Edge (where I went) it’s $120 which includes the olaplex treatment ($100 without treatment). You can also use my name for a referral on any of their services on their website for 10% off. Kevie who did my fake lashes also works there and my name will get you $25 off your first full set if you want to look into that!
What is the maintenance like? Other than your appointment every 6-8 weeks, no other maintenance associated/needed.
Can you wear eye makeup like normal post treatment? Nothing can be worn on your lashes the first 24 hours after treatment, but after that you can treat them like normal lashes!
If I missed anything, feel free to ask below!
