BBL (Broadband Light): Before & After + What You Need to Know

Earlier this month, I tried BBL for the first time and I have been super impressed with my results so I wanted to share more details about it. If you’re unfamiliar with BBL, it stands for Broadband Light and it’s a light/laser treatment that essentially targets the redness and brown (age spots) on your face. It can also be used on your neck, chest, and hands. My face has always been more on the red side (not officially diagnosed, but I’m pretty sure I have rosacea) and my age/dark spots have been the one thing over the years that I feel like has been my main “problem.” So since BBL targets those and redness, it was a treatment that made total sense for me to try!

I saw Amy at Finn Plastic Surgery and it was a great experience per usual! I see Dr. Tyler there for all my injectables so definitely recommend them in general for whatever your cosmetic needs are 🙂 Before I share before and after photos of the treatment, this is what you can expect. The treatment itself takes about 45 minutes. It’s not painful, but it’s not necessarily comfortable either. The best way to describe it is like a little hot rubber band snapping your face haha. I feel like that almost makes it sound worse than it is, but that’s the best way I can describe it. But overall not bad at all, plus I feel like your face is probably the most sensitive area which is where I got it done. There isn’t any downtime involved, you can start wearing makeup right away so you don’t have to worry about looking like Samantha from SATC when she has to walk around with that bee keeper ensemble haha. Even if you don’t wear makeup though, my face was pretty mild looking (which you can see in this reel). As far as frequency, Finn recommends that you get 3 initial treatments 4-6 weeks apart and then just 1-2x a year for maintenance. As far as cost at Finn one session (for the face) is $550 or $1250 for three sessions. Honestly though, even if you can just do one session, I totally recommend it. I saw amazing results after just the one. Speaking of – here are the results!

You can see from Day 1 through Day 10 in this reel. And then below are some closer of photos of Day 1, Day 10, and then about 3 weeks post treatment.

Right before going into my BBL treatment
Day 10 post BBL – you can see the larger spot on my right (your left) is virtually gone
3 weeks post

If you have any other questions about BBL let me know! But yeah, overall I feel like it’s one of the best treatments I’ve ever done. The results are so immediate and visible, and no downtime! It made a huge difference with my dark spots and even though I still have some redness, it’s much less than it was. I’m going in for a second treatment beginning of February so I’ll continue to keep you posted!
